Chrissy Teigen Asks If She Can Bring ‘Emotional Support Casserole’ On Flight

Chrissy Teigen had an emotional time of it when she asked American Airlines if she could bring an ’emotional support casserole’ onboard a flight.

The model and TV presenter kept her 9.77 million Twitter followers up to date with her progress.

She started with:

If I don’t have a carry-on, can I bring a large ceramic casserole dish of scalloped potatoes on the plane? I am not kidding, is this okay? Is it too blunt/heavy an object? I’ll cry if they throw it away.

Before quickly following it up with a ‘please help me’ tweet to American Airlines:

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) replied:

That’s a good question, Christine! Scalloped potatoes are allowed in carry-on and checked bags. You can place them in a ceramic casserole dish.

American Airlines also got back to Chrissy, reassuring the pregnant mum-of-one they were there for her before asking her to direct message her request.

Chrissy didn’t slide into the DMs, instead she aired it all out on Twitter, which made for some amusement.

Referring to her casserole as an ’emotional support casserole’ she said she’d like to bring it on her flight.

A short time later, Chrissy tweeted ‘it’s happening’, alongside a video of what appears to be the casserole being made.

And it looked delicious, so no wonder she wanted it on the plane.

And the next post? The casserole being taken through baggage check, of course…

And finally, a photo confirming they’d made it through. 

Chrissy, who is married to singer John Legend, regularly posts videos of her culinary skills on her social media, and despite gaining fame as a model, she has since written a cookbook, Cravings, and is working on its sequel.

Her casserole is the latest ’emotional support’ something-or-other making the news recently.

Dexter, the emotional support peacock was actually denied a seat on a flight earlier this year.

His owner was flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport and had brought along the beautiful ’emotional-support’ bird.

Unfortunately, United Airlines denied her request to bring her emotional support peacock on the flight, writes Live and Let’s Fly.

They reported despite Dexter’s owner booking a second ticket for the peacock, the airline unfortunately had to turn down her request.

Earlier this month, Delta announced it would be imposing tighter regulations on support animals, prompting other airlines to re-examine their own rules.

Yet it wasn’t those changes which prompted United Airlines to deny the peacock its seat.

United Airlines told Fox News in a statement:

This animal did not meet guidelines for a number of reasons, including its weight and size.
