With Halloween coming up, you’ll probably experience a few ‘paranormal’ experiences – most likely the kind where your mates do everything in their power to scare you.
It’s less likely you will experience a real paranormal experience, although who am I to say. One man would certainly disagree with me as he witnessed something extremely spooky on his baby monitor.
The Irish man was testing out the newly purchased monitor in his home when he got the fright of his life.
You can watch what happened below:
The video, uploaded to YouTube by user The Hidden Underbelly 2.0, shows the man playing with the monitor, talking to himself as he figures out how to use it.
The screen is focused on his baby, who is lying in its cot whilst a woman’s arm can be seen stroking its head. The man can be heard saying ‘can you move these things left and right as well… oh aye you can’, before he starts moving the screen to change what he can see.
He then says ‘let me check if I can get your face’, pressing some buttons which allow him to move the screen upwards. As he does this, he sings in a cheerful tone ‘say hello Lis-‘ before abruptly stopping and cursing to himself.
His reason for doing so is because, if you look closely, you can see something that looks like a black figure poking its head out of a door in the background of the monitor.
His next words uttered are ‘what the f*ck’ before he rushes out of the room he was in towards the stairs. While he does this, he shouts ‘Lisa, what’s behind you?’ and begins running up the stairs to his baby’s room.
Lisa, clearly confused, can be heard asking ‘what’ and then ‘nothing’ as he enters the room. He rushes to the door where he saw the figure, checking behind it and saying ‘seriously, I swear to God’.
After the video was posted to YouTube, many commented how ‘creepy’ the footage was, with some people even telling him to move houses.
However, some commented that the video looked fake, saying the figure ‘moved too fast’ and that it was probably made on a computer.
Regardless of what it was he saw though, it was clearly enough to give him a fright and make him rush upstairs to check what was going on.
And it would seem this isn’t the only time cameras have recorded something supernatural:
CCTV cameras outside a shop in Pangasinan, Philippines, captured the moment a ghost-like figure walked through traffic on June 20 at 2pm.
Surveillance footage from the same shop showed a similar figure emerge 13 hours later, ‘standing’ next to a delivery man.
Jenny Renalto, who works near to where the ‘ghost’ was captured on film, said:
Now I’m scared to walk near this area. Every time I go past I can sense something scary.
I keep remembering what was on CCTV and the image of the man walking across the road comes into my head.
All of this spooky sightings actually make me wonder whether there is such a thing as the paranormal, and it appears I’m not alone.
According to research carried out by OnePoll on behalf of Groupon, the majority of people believe they have seen a ghost in their lifetime – out of 2,000 people, three in five claimed to have seen a ghost before.
Which is slightly terrifying, but there you go. I’ll definitely be doing my best to avoid any sightings this Halloween.
