InstagramOne ingenious dad is trolling the internet by photoshopping his 18-month-old daughter into some very dangerous situations.
Stephen Crowley, a professional designer, photoshops his baby girl, Hannah playing with sharp knives, dangling off fences at the edges of lakes and playing precariously at the park…
All to raise awareness for her condition.
Hannah has a rare immune disorder called Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). To treat the life-threatening immunodeficiency, Hannah has had chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
Her father told indy100:
She had a very rare immune disorder called HLH and spent 6 months of her first year in hospital, receiving chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, which is the only possible cure.
Stephen continued:
Of 27 million worldwide donors, three were deemed suitable, and an anonymous German lady donated. Because we missed out on so much normal stuff of the first year, we take tons of photos now that we’re able to do normal things out of isolation.
Now that she is on the road to recovery, Stephen is trying to see the lighter side of life:
She is doing much better now, in and out of hospital, but she’s lots of fun, always smiling, and has a great sense of humour given what she’s been through so far.
I work as a designer, so thought it would be fun to worry family by putting someone delicate in precarious situations.
Stephen said the response so far has been largely positive but does encounter ‘the odd person not getting the joke and commenting I should be shot’.
The online abuse from those ignorant to Stephen and Hannah’s story is just water off a duck’s back.
It’s no match for their refreshingly light-hearted, sweet take on hard times.
Crowley is raising money for Be the Match, and using his photoshop skills to raise awareness.
The charity connects donors with those in need of bone marrow, just like Hannah.
