David Beckham is getting more like Fergie every day.
Today we had a Royal Wedding on our hands. A royal rumble if you like. A chicken royale with cheese. Okay that’s a bit too much.
Harry and Meghan’s special day was watched by millions across the globe. It was an incredible ceremony. For about three minutes anyhow before I began to get really bored.
Aside from the millions who watched on TV and online, thousands of other royalists, actually lined the streets of Windsor, dressed in Union Jacks for days, just so they could get to wave at their masters for a meagre second on their happy day.
The wedding is said to have set the British tax payer back a whopping £30 million. 50,000 of which was spent on a cake. Jesus wept.
But what was the most interesting part of the throwdown? The bit which got everybody talking? Surprise surprise, it was when the camera span around the crowd and took a moment gazing at the chiseled jaw of David Beckham.
Although Beckham’s a badboy, he’s breaking all the rules. A huge rule if you will. And Mr. Beckham was caught on camera in the act.
But just what was this cardinal sin Goldenballs broke? He was spotted chewing in church. Chewing gum. I told you he was like Fergie.
The reaction on Twitter was pretty big:
Beckham was looking fresh but with chewing gum in his mouth, he looked ready to be back in the dugout on a cold Wednesday night in Stoke.
The ceremony is being officiated by the Dean of Windsor, David Conner, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who performed the newlywed’s vows.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Meghan was walked down the aisle by Prince Charles after her father, Thomas Markle, was forced to pull out due to last minute heart surgery earlier in the week.
On the morning of the wedding, Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, accompanied her daughter to Windsor Castle, along with select members of the wedding party.
Meghan released a statement following her father’s decision to pull out of the wedding, in which she professed how she’s ‘always cared’ for him, and hopes he can be given the time and space he needs to focus on his health.
However, Thomas was watching back home in the US, telling TMZ:
My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy. I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness.
He added how watching the ceremony was ’emotional and joyful’.
Harry’s reaction to his bride walking down the aisle was a truly breathtaking moment. When she came to his side, the prince said to her:
You look amazing.
