Just over a month ago, Emily Ratajkowski shocked social media users around after having a surprise wedding to her boyfriend of a few weeks.
Now she has revealed how he proposed, and it’s pretty fitting for a union of its nature.
I don’t mean that in a bad way. If I didn’t have respect for Sebastian Bear-McClard before, I certainly do now.
The actress and model confirmed that her husband popped the question with… a paper clip.
She told Jimmy Fallon:
I guess I didn’t really know what I always wanted to do, which is maybe why it was so untraditional.
I wore a mustard yellow suit and a black hat which was all part of my plan to not be noticed… [it] truly didn’t work out quite as I’d imagined.
He proposed to me at Minetta Tavern [an upscale restaurant in New York City], and he didn’t have a ring so I was like, ‘mmm, nah.’ And then he took the paper clip that the bill was paid with and made me a ring which I actually thought was really romantic.
Ratajkowski confirmed her marriage through a series of photos on her Instagram story Friday February 23.

It was not previously known the two were dating as it only emerged last month the model had moved out of her home with ex-boyfriend Jeff Magid.
She also shared on her Instagram page a black-and-white photograph of the two cuddling shortly after the ceremony simply captioning it with two ring emojis
The 26-year-old teased her fans about a secret announcement on her Instagram story.
Wearing a $200 mustard-yellow trouser suit from Zara, complete with black hat and veil, Emily first shared a photo of herself next to Bear-McClard’s friend and co-director on his latest film Good Time, Josh Safdie.
On her other side was Instagram personality and best friend to her new husband ‘The Fat Jewish’, Josh Ostrovsky, who wore Planned Parenthood branded joggers and hoodie, a non-profit organisation Emily is a vocal supporter of.
The next photo, which was taken at New York City Hall where the couple wed, showed Emily cradling a pet dog.
She revealed in one snap that she had ‘a surprise’.
Considering that Emily was last photographed together with her ex-boyfriend Jeff in November 2017, with it being thought the couple broke up a few weeks after, the wedding will come as a shock to fans.
Not much is known about Emily’s other half although according to his IMDb page he is listed as being a producer on indie films including Good Time, which starred Robert Pattinson, Heaven Knows What, and Still Life.
He has been nominated for several Gotham Independent Film Awards, including Best Feature Film for Good Time.
Sebastian was also up for an Independent Spirit Award back in 2014 for Heaven Knows What.
