As the recession begins to pass, searching for a job still isn’t too easy. With an increase in jobs, but very poor ones at that, frustration at the market is pretty easy to understand.
As reported by Mashable, one man, Lewis Kenny, from Dublin, managed to sum it up perfectly by replicating a remix of Eminem’s 2000 hit, Stan.
Speaking to UNILAD, Lewis said:
I’d been unemployed for the past 4 months and wanted to vent my frustration at finding good work.
I’m a qualified electrical engineer, and have a wealth of experience in event management and hospitality, but yet find it hard to break into any of the industries.
My previous employer shafted me on a zero-hour contract, so it was a surprise when I had to leave, because my hours had just suddenly ceased to exist.
I get by as a performance poet and freelance writer, so creative writing is how I usually vent my problems.
Kenny reworded the entire song as an anthem for everyone who knows the struggle of penning out tonnes of applications before sitting around and endlessly waiting to hear back.
He wrote:
The lengthy song/poem is titled ‘Still Trying And Nothing‘, and was posted to Facebook on Sunday evening before going viral.

Brilliant work.
