Fans of Ariana Grande are worried after she posted a cryptic photo to her Instagram story recently.
The 25-year-old singer has had a lot to deal with this year, following the death of her ex-boyfriend – rapper Mac Miller – in September and her reported split from fiancé Pete Davidson since.
Since then, fans of the singer have been reaching out to Ariana to check whether she’s alright, raising their concerns for her on social media.
Although Ariana is yet to confirm the split, she has remained active on Instagram, allowing her fans to have a slight insight into her life.
Most recently, she posted a photo on her story showing Hollywood actress Marilyn Monroe drinking from a flask.
She posted another picture at the same time depicting a woman crying, which has since been deleted due to the 24 hour limit on Instagram stories.
Fans have questioned whether the pictures are a reflection of Ariana’s mood – the crying and the drinking suggestive of someone who is struggling.
However, the picture of Marilyn is a screenshot from the 1959 comedy Some Like It Hot, which perhaps suggest that the image is more lighthearted than some would think.
Ariana and Pete allegedly split last weekend (October 13/14), with TMZ reporting it was simply ‘not the right time for their relationship to take off’.
It was a whirlwind romance, with the pair getting matching tattoos and becoming engaged in just a few months.
Fans have rallied behind Ariana since everything that has happened, tweeting her messages of love and support. And although Ariana is doing her best to reassure everyone that she’s okay, there are still many who believe she is not.
People have tweeted about their concern for the singer:
Genuinely worried about Ariana she’s been through so much and I imagine she blames herself for a lot that she couldn’t help. I hope someone can help her get her head on a good level.

On Wednesday (October 17) Ariana implied that she needed a break when she told fans she was going to stay off social media for a while in a since deleted Instagram story, InStyle reports.
She said:
Time to say bye bye again to the internet for just a lil bit. It’s hard not to bump news n stuff that I’m not tryna see rn. It’s very sad and we’re all tryin very hard to keep goin. Love u. and thank u for bein here always. Love
Since then, a source has told People that her friends and family are worried about her, saying she has ‘been through a lot’ and ’emotionally things have been so up and down for her this year’.
The source went on to say:
She’s staying strong and focusing on work right now, but her friends and family are definitely worried about her.
I hope Ariana gets the help and support she needs and that she gets through these difficult times with her friends and family by her side.
