Jackson Barnes/Facebook/NetflixPhysicist Bob Lazar has urged people not to storm the notoriously secretive United States Airforce facility, Area 51.
Decades of conspiracy theories surrounding the mysterious base have prompted thousands of individuals to dream up a bizarre plan straight out a Stranger Things script: Break into Area 51 and liberate the aliens who supposedly reside there.
At the time of writing, over one million people apparently plan to attend the break in, scheduled September 20. Lazar has shown a longtime interest in the goings on at Area 51, and one would naturally assume he’d be on the front-lines. However, this has not been the case at all…
Lazar – who allegedly worked within the Area 51 compound at a site focused on reverse engineering extraterrestrial technology – has made the following comments via Instagram:
I have to comment on this ‘Storm Area 51’ thing. I do understand it was started as a joke by someone, but there are a number of people who are actually planning on showing up. This is a misguided idea.
Area 51 is a classified research base. There are no aliens or alien technology located there. The only place there was ever any alien technology was at Site S4, south of Area 51 proper.
That was 30 years ago. S4 may have moved decades ago or it’s possible it’s no longer being used for the project.
Site S-4, a military facility approximately 15 miles south of Area 51, is where Lazar allegedly worked, and where he claims to have read government briefings detailing alien involvement in Earthly goings on for the past 10,000 years.
Writing on Instagram, Lazar proceeded to warn would-be alien hunters of the dangers of trying to break into such a secure area:
I do not support this ‘movement’. The last time someone tried to get in to Area 51 he was shot. This is not the way to go about trying to get more information.
What is good, is the interest in the subject – the science and technology. That is what would immediately change the world we live in.
Although some have dismissed Lazar as being a conspiracy theorist, there has been evidence to back up some of the surreal claims he first made in 1989, and which he continues to uphold to this day.
For example, phone directory evidence and newspaper articles support claims Lazar did indeed work as an employee at New Mexico’s Los Alamos National Laboratory, America’s most well known federal government laboratory. This is despite the lab denying he ever worked there.
Images of the biometric bone density scanners used to get inside the top-secret Nellis Air Force Range building perfectly match descriptions given by Lazar.
Furthermore, element 115 – an extremely radioactive element Lazar claims to have been working on during his time at S-4 – has since been synthesised by a team of Russian and American scientists.
Aside from his involvement in 2018 documentary Bob Lazar: Area 51 And Flying Saucers, Lazar has rarely committed to interviews about his alleged experiences within the Area 51 compound.

According to the Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us, the ‘game plan’ will break down attendees into three distinct groups: rock throwers, Naruto runners, and erm, ‘Kyles’ (Monster Energy fuelled individuals who will reportedly have the brute strength to break through drywall).
Although the plan has generated numerous humorous memes, it’s of course never, ever a good idea to try and break into a top secret government facility, energy drink power or not. Please listen to Bob on this one…
