Guy Accidentally Buys Girlfriend Lettuce Instead Of Flowers

It can be difficult being a dutiful boyfriend but I think the majority of men could be trusted to tell the difference between flowers and a vegetable, or at least I did until I heard this story.

20-year-old Jamarcus Guilory decided to treat his girlfriend, Jailyn Hernandez, 19 by buying her a beautiful bunch of flowers after the pair had argued, Buzzfeed News reports.

A nice olive branch, I think we can all agree.

So what flowers did he get her? Lilies, Roses, Daffodils? No somehow  Jamarcus managed to drop the ball completely and buy Jailyn a lettuce.

Now in Jamarcus’ defence it wasn’t an iceberg lettuce he confused for flowers it was purple kale, so at least the colouring was right.

Speaking to Mashable Jailyn explained how she reacted to her boyfriend’s cock up

 She said: 

I was sleeping and he woke me up by knocking on my window. I went to go open the door and he had the lettuce in his hand with a big smile

I just started laughing so much. After, I hugged and kissed him. He didn’t [know] what it was until I told him it was lettuce. My mom was right by the door and she was laughing, too, but she also thought it was cute.
