In the year of our Lord 2018, we must find ways to placate our thirst for instant gratification. One man has found a way to do this with the power of a wheelie bin.
You would think to be present at the Formula One Belgium Grand Prix is a once in a lifetime opportunity, something you would cherish for the rest of your life. But the truth is F1 racing can be a bit boring.
Think about it for a second, is it really fun to watch a bunch of high-powered cars go round and round again for 78 laps? Only the most ardent of fans could enjoy such monotony. Thank the heavens this man was able to entertain everyone, albeit briefly, with his wheelie bin slide stunt.
Check out the Michael Jordan of wheelie bin sliding:
Unlike Fernando Alonso’s first corner crash where his McLaren was launched over the top of Charles LeClerc’s Sauber the unknown man’s stunt involved diving head first inside a wheelie bin that is propped up horizontally on a row of picnic benches. Once inside, he proceeds to slide across the whole length of approximately seven tables.
The video, which surfaced online shows the young man in-bin sliding all the way to the other side where he falls off and hits a plant pot – much to the amusement of the gathered crowd.
The preposterous video was filmed in the aftermath of the Belgian Grand Prix, with the young man throwing his drink callously into the air in preparation for the party trick.
He then takes a run at the wheelie bin that is lying on its side, with lid and wheels missing, and executes a perfect jump into the waste container with his legs dangling outside. The momentum carries him and the bin down the aligned picnic tables while amped up spectators cheer him on.
The man glides perfectly for a few seconds before making contact with the plant that is stood at the exit of the back straight, knocking it off, as well as the bin that contains him.
Despite the short ride, the stunt creates unadulterated excitement for the crowd. Afterwards, he picks himself up and lifts the bin over his head, as if it was the Grand Prix winner’s trophy. I’m sure his mother and father a very proud of their son. Sebastian Vettel must look on with awe.
Since going viral on Instagram the video has racked up more than 1.5M views, with users applauding his antics.

This is so good
I’ve got to hand it to him it was a perfectly executed run and slide. I can’t help but feel he channelled his inner Venom Snake from Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain. If you don’t know what I’m talking about I suggest you play the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game. It’s bloody great.
For those who have played it you know what I’m talking about.
‘Kept you waiting, huh?’
