In the age of the selfie, taking a bad picture is just one thing that cannot happen.
In fact, you can spend a good ten minutes (or in the case of a Kardashian / Jenner child) ten hours, sitting there snapping away until you get the right selfie for social media.
Fair enough, if that’s what you want to do with your time, but as is so often the case, one man decided to take the bar and raise it.
After becoming unhappy with a mugshot distributed by US police, one fugitive decided to send a better one to the authorities. Yeah, you read that right.
Donald “Chip” Pugh messaged police with a better selfie, and told them to use it, because the other one was ‘terrible’.
Police duly posted the new image alongside the old on in an effort to catch him.
They made it clear that while they appreciate Pugh’s efforts to help them catch him, they would rather he ‘would come to speak to us at the [Lima Police Department] about his charges’.
Limelight loving Pugh then went on Ohio radio to explain the situation, and said:
Man, they just did me wrong.
They put a picture out that made me look like I was a Thundercat… or James Brown on the run.
I can’t do that.
Incredible scenes.
