Just when you’re thinking about deleting Snapchat, they go and throw you a filter like the one sweeping social media at the moment – the sex change filter.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m going to safely assume you’ve seen images of your guy friends as women and your girl friends as guys in group chats.

You’ve probably told your best mate Darren he’s sexy. You don’t have to act the big man here. I can happily admit to telling several of my friends what I think about them as women and it’s all been extremely flattering. You can too. It’s 2019.

Anyway, to that end, one guy decided he’d had such a positive response about his Snapchat filter sex change that he’d put his picture to the wild west of aesthetic judgement… Tinder.

Jake Askew, from Norwich, UK, set up an account on Tinder with his female filter version of himself because he thought he looked ‘unreal’. As it happened, so did Tinder.

He changed his name to Jess, stuck the filtered version of himself up and very soon found himself with 1,650 likes on his profile and around 400 matches.

Je… I mean Jake, currently studying at the University of Derby, revealed a lot of guys agreed with the ‘unreal’ description of himself and started getting some extremely forward messages from the thirsty types that frequent Tinder.

Speaking to LADbible, the 20-year-old said:

One chap asked ‘Are you a poece of art because I want to nail you up against the wall’. Another talked to me about his ‘pork sword’ and one bloke simply asked me to ‘sit on his face’.

I didn’t let anyone know about it, I’ll keep ’em guessing.

As a guy who’s used Tinder in the past with my average looks and generally piss-poor attempts at a joke in my bio, I can’t begin to pretend to understand what it feels like to get so much attention. And neither could Jake. I guess, this is a glimpse into the world of what women have to put up with online.

To be fair, I looked at myself with the Snapchat filter on and thought I looked unreal, showed my mate and we thought we’d make a Tinder just to see if I’d get any matches from it.

Obviously I didn’t expect to be liked by over 1600 thirsty lads.

Jake shared the results of his catfishing (bit harsh to call it that?) attempts on Twitter and was pleasantly surprised by the response, with it being retweeted thousands of times.

As far as catfishing attempts go, this has to be up there with the very best of them.
