Hmmmmm.
In one of the weirdest stories of the week: a particularly foolish individual in Poland attempted to rob a bank with a gun – drawn on a piece of paper.
The 33-year-old Brit (obviously) walked into a bank in Warsaw brandishing the drawing of the gun. He then asked the female bank employee to hand over all the money.
Well, he didn’t ask, he had another piece of paper that reportedly said: “This is a robbery. I have gun. Give me the money,” in broken Polish.
The cashier at the bank, in Jerozilimskie Avenue, told him to wait in the queue and, being British, he dutifully went to the back and started queuing. We do love a good queue.
The police were called and the man was arrested.
Agnieszka Wlodarska from the Warsaw police said:
The cashier kept her head and told him to rejoin the queue. She then called the police.
At no time did he speak and did not behave aggressively.
He reportedly pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, was charged last week, and could face up to 12 years in jail.
There are very few details about the man, except he had only been in the country a few hours before he tried to rob the bank.
What a bizarre thing to do.
