Perhaps the most irritating thing about the decade we live in is the way everyone, and we mean everyone, is obsessed with social media.
It seems that you can’t have a conversation, dinner or a drink with friends and family these days without at least one person pulling out their little black rectangle and gawping at it for a good five minutes or so, and lets be honest it’s super irritating.
However when this mother got sick of the thrall that social media had over her kids lives the Daily Mail reports that she may have overreacted, a bit…
The angry mum confiscating her kids’ mobiles, she set up them up against a tree, got a rifle and then blew them to smithereens, while her three glum children looked on in dismay.
Explaining her unusual parenting techniques, the mother, from the southern USA, said: “My children’s lives are more important to me than any electronic on this earth.”
A noble thought, if we ignore that one of her kids interrupts her saying: “Good for you, we still don’t give two fucks”, before she continues: “I refuse to have them influenced in negative ways. Contacting people they don’t know, being involved in drama they don’t need to be in, and being in trouble at school for having phones out.”
After blowing the phones away, she brings out a sledgehammer and pulverises the remains, just to make sure no one will be cobble it back together.
I like that the mum’s trying to teach her kids a lesson, but to me it seems all she’s done is say property destruction can solve all your problems…
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
