If Donald Trump winning the U.S. presidential election doesn’t say ‘literally fucking anything is possible’, then Kanye West running for president in 2020 just might.
Back in August 2015, West announced his plan to run for presidency at the MTV Video Music Awards. And following the news that the Republican candidate was elected president in the shocking 2016 election on Tuesday, Twitter began calling out for Yeezy to ‘save them’,
Given that Trump, a man with no previous governing experience, has been elected as the president in 2016, Kanye West‘s bid seems ever more plausible.
Reiterating his plans to run for POTUS on BBC Radio 1 a year after his initial announcement, Yeezy said:
When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views. I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive I’m going to try to do it.
And apparently, because 2016 and the world in general is batshit crazy, Kanye is America’s only hope to sanity.
All joking aside, some people really preffered an outspoken rapper with no political experience over Trump (also with no political experience) as their president:
To be honest, I’d rather vote for Michelle Obama – and it seems like everyone else would, too.
