Greater Manchester Police have launched a manhunt for this man with a pushchair.
They have released this image of the man in an attempt to track him down after he approached a member of the public and offered to sell them the baby.
The ‘suspicious incident’ happened today at 2.30pm in Barton Arcade.
Sgt David Henshall said:
his is extremely unusual and at this time we are trying to establish the full circumstances of the situation, but most importantly check on the welfare of the child.
If anyone recognises the man in the image or has been approached by him in a similar situation please contact police urgently.
Very little is known about the man and the incident. It could have been a (really shit) prank or joke, or it could have been something a lot more worrying or dangerous.
Hopefully they find both the man and the baby soon, and everything is ok.
