This real-life Rapunzel has been growing her hair for 13 years – and she refuses to cut it.
Dashik Gubanova Freckle, from Russia, has become an Instagram celebrity after posting photographs of her ridiculously long hair.
According to her Instagram page, Freckle hasn’t cut her hair since 2003, and she doesn’t plan on lopping it off anytime soon – she’s made it clear to her 104,000 followers that her Rapunzel locks aren’t going anywhere until they touch her toes.
While her tresses are definitely impressive, some people have pointed out that it may be put to better use. Critics to her page have suggested cutting it off in the name of cancer, and considering the minimum length required to donate for a wig is 10 inches, there’s a pretty good chance she could donate a few.
Freckle thinks otherwise, though.
She wrote in a post:
This post is for those who say that I should donate their hair for wigs … In 14 years, I cut a scythe and donate hair for wigs.
Today, I grow hair. My goal is to grow them to toe. (Sorry for my English).
We’re assuming what she’s saying here is no, she will not donate her hair until it touches her toes. But she might in 14 years with a scythe (a tool used for cutting crops).
