Chris Brown has left a comment on one of Rihanna’s recent Instagram posts and fans aren’t best pleased.
The rapper was famously convicted for assaulting the singer in 2009 while the two were dating.
The Bajan singer took to social media to promote a sale on her lingerie line for Black Friday.
Underneath a picture of herself wearing the red Fenty underwear, she wrote: ‘We getting NAUGHTY not NICE this season!’
She added:
@savagexfenty just dropped The Ultimate Gift Guide to help you shop gifts for everybody in ya life!! Hit up SavageX.com to get 50% off everything for a limited time!’
This apparently didn’t bode too well with Brown who commented with a single embarrassed face emoji.
One fan wrote: ‘Why would @chrisbrownofficial do that?’
Another said: ‘He want that old thang back.’
A third added: ‘@chrisbrownofficial what are you doing here still?’
Back in March, Rihanna responded to a Snapchat poll which asked users if they would ‘rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown.’ The company later said it ‘never should have appeared on our service.’
She wrote via Instagram story:
I’d love to call it ignorance, but I know you ain’t that dumb.
This isn’t about my personal feelings, cause I don’t have much of them… but all the women, children and men that have been victims of DV in the past and especially the ones who haven’t made it out yet.
You let us down! Shame on you. Throw the whole app-ology away.
A Snap Inc spokesperson said:
This advertisement is disgusting and never should have appeared on our service. We are so sorry we made the terrible mistake of allowing it through our review process.
We are investigating how that happened so that we can make sure it never happens again.
Snapchat’s share price dropped by more than 4 per cent following the statement.
More recently, Rihanna reportedly turned down the chance to headline 2019’s Super Bowl Halftime show in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick.
The Umbrella singer was allegedly the number one choice for the performance, which has previously hosted the likes of Paul McCartney, Prince and Beyonce.
However rumour has it she shunned the event to support the ex-San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, who spearheaded the ‘take a knee’ movement in protest of police brutality back in 2016.
A source told Entertainment Tonight:
Rihanna was the front-runner for next year’s super bowl halftime show. CBS and the NFL reached out to Rihanna first, who after thinking about the offer, decided to pass due to the NFL and the situation regarding players kneeling.
‘The offer and exposure would have been great for Rihanna as she’s planning a new album and your but she stuck to what’s right in her eyes,’ the report added.
The 2019 Super Bowl will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3, 2019.
