PATo commemorate the celebration of weed that is 4:20, Snapchat has adopted a feature which a lot of people aren’t happy about.
Enter, the Bob Marley filter.
Though a revolutionary of reggae music, Bob Marley is equally famous for his Rastafarian lifestyle – which included smoking a lot of weed.
And through some absolutely bizarre reasoning, the people behind Snapchat decided it would be a great idea to let users black-up with the new filter (as you can see below)… Oh wait, that’s beyond unacceptable.
As you can probably imagine, Twitter users went absolutely wild declaring that the filter was ‘racist’:

Snapchat has since spoken out, according to The Guardian, saying:
The lens we launched today was created in partnership with the Bob Marley Estate, and gives people a new way to share their appreciation for Bob Marley and his music. Millions of Snapchatters have enjoyed Bob Marley’s music, and we respect his life and achievements.
