There’s a place in all carnivores’ hearts for those who can master the art of a well-seasoned steak.
So when Saltbae – the flamboyant Turkish butcher who works at Nusr-Et Steak House in Dubai – went viral last month, mouths watered and the internet swooned.
At the sight of his culinary flair, we fell at his feet, just like the tiny flecks of salty seasoning fell with a quick flick of Saltbae’s wrist.
No one was immune to his artistry.
Not even Rihanna.
But no one loves Saltbae – whose real name is Nusret Gökçe – like this guy.
Jayden Davies, a 24-year-old renegade from Melbourne was so mesmerised by Saltbae’s skills that he proceeded to get the viral sensation’s likeness inked on his arm.
Davies told BuzzFeed the idea started when tattoo artist Mika Ryan posted a Facebook status asking if anyone would want SaltBae etched forever into their skin.
Davies said:
So typical me, who does silly things, I messaged him and said ‘yes, I’ll do it’.
The plumber is not one to do things by halves, apparently, opting to get a huge portrait of Saltbae up his forarm, in homage to the viral video.
Davies has enjoyed the positive reactions to the tattoo so far, saying, ‘It’s a great story to tell in time to come, and it’s all for a bit of a laugh.’
Or until the next meme goes viral…
That’s going to be one hell of a sleeve.
