Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have got married in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas.
The singer appeared at the Billboard Music Awards in Vegas last night (May 1), where he performed as part of the newly reformed Jonas Brothers alongside siblings Kevin and Nick.
Just hours after his appearance on stage, it appears Joe and Game of Thrones star Sophie went to a local chapel to tie the knot.
American DJ Diplo documented the occasion on his Instagram story:
In true Vegas wedding fashion, it looks like an Elvis impersonator officiated the services.
Diplo’s footage captured Sophie wearing a veil and dressed all in white, and entering the chapel alongside Joe and his two Jonas brothers. Diplo captioned the video ‘Gonna hit up this wedding real quick.’
Later scenes saw guests gathered in the chapel as country stars Dan and Shay sang an acoustic version of their song Speechless. The husband-to-be stood the front of the aisle alongside his brothers, with a white flower attached to his suit, and Sophie approached carrying a matching bouquet.
The DJ tagged the couple in the video and attached a ‘true love’ sticker.
Diplo went on to record the whole ceremony on Instagram Live, where the couple turned to each other and repeated:
I promise you, I will never leave you. I will love and trust you all the days of my life.
Elvis then told Joe ‘You may kiss the bride’, and the crowd went wild.
The nuptials were confirmed by Entertainment Tonight, who obtained a copy of the couple’s marriage licence.
While the wedding might have come as a surprise to fans, the couple could have been planning the Vegas event for a while. The pair got engaged in October 2017, and they each announced the news with corresponding Instagram posts.
Sophie simply wrote ‘I said yes’, while her fiance’s caption was, similarly, ‘She said yes’.
Last month, the actor spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her wedding, explaining Game of Thrones co-star Maisie Williams would play a big part in the ceremony, and joking about what her friend would be wearing on her big day.
She said:
I don’t know why she’s thinking about [what she’s wearing to my wedding]. I’m giving her the bridesmaid dress!
She’s my maid of honor! One of two.
It’s unclear whether Maisie was at last night’s ceremony, but it looked like the couple had a great time all the same!
Congratulations, Sophie and Joe!
