A teenage girl in Argentina has allegedly been brutally gang raped by a group of men and had her eyes gouged out by her sister, as part of a sickening exorcism ritual.
Her family believed the girl, 16, was possessed by the devil. The girl’s sister was ordered by the local pastor to remove her sibling’s eyes to drive out the evil things she was seeing.
CENThe victim’s sister has now been arrested. She said the devil gained access to her sister through her eyes, and that because demons are terrified of pain, their act would drive out the devil.
The group of men involved in the ritual gang rape are also about to be arrested.
CENThe incident happened in the town of General Pinedo in the northern province of Chaco. The girl is recovering from her horrendous ordeal in the intensive care unit of Perrando de Resistencia hospital.
The local police commissioner, Pablo Almiron, said the victim’s parents also believed the teenager was possessed by the devil, and that she kept seeing goats that were not there. They asked a local evangelical pastor to help ‘cure her’.
Almiron said:
It is the first time in 22 years of my career in the police to have an event of this nature.
The prosecutor has also said that it is the first time in his life. It is very difficult to explain that something like this could happen to a teenager.
