Movember is well underway and if you are struggling to cultivate a respectable amount of facial fuzz to line your top lip, look away now.
The men you see before you were all promoting America’s National Beard and Moustache Championships, which took place in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday.
Some of the efforts are frankly astounding.
The competition has 18 different categories split across three sections: moustache, partial beard, and full beard.
Judges are no fools, however, and whilst the use of styling aids is permitted in the rules artificial hair is not tolerated.
The winner of the tournament overall receives a free trip to next year’s competition, and the top three participants in each individual category receive a medal in recognition of their effort.
You can hear from the tournament founder, Phil Olsen, in the interview below.
Don’t be too downhearted if you are growing your mo in the name of charity, every little helps regardless of whether a small group of birds could nest in your facial hair or not.
