Le Cube: Pop IconsTurns out MTV are a bunch of boring bastards.
The music channel commissioned South American design agency Le Cube to come up with some fun GIFs to poke fun at the super stars who frequent their channel.
According to Le Cube themselves, the brief said: “Let’s make fun of some pop icons using cool animations in gif style”. Which is exactly what they did, although the colourful GIFs featuring Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Beyonce and Jay Z, Lady Gaga and Madonna, were a lot ruder than expected.
Le Cube: Pop IconsMTV’s legal team worried the pop stars featured might take offence and sue, so they scrapped the project.
Le Cube give zero fucks, though, and completed the project regardless, writing on their online portfolio: “If you want to sue something, sue boredom.”
