It’s a bird, it’s a plane! It’s a penis in the sky courtesy of the US Navy.
Times may be tense across the pond but that hasn’t stopped one pilot from going doing his own thing in the most hilarious way.
Look at these images and try not to smile.
You may be the biggest prude in the world but it surely won’t come between you and appreciating the sheer audacity involved in taking a detour up in the clouds to draw male genitalia.
The pilot’s superiors at the Whidbey Island naval station have reportedly come out against the move.
The most monumental thing to happen in omak. A penis in the sky pic.twitter.com/SM8k1tNYaj

They said:
We find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value and we are holding the crew accountable.
Navy spokesperon Lt. Cmdr. Lesie Hubbell added:
US Navy air crew, flying an F/A-18 Growler (Electronic Attack Aircraft) assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron 130 based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash., flew an air pattern over Okanogan County, Washington, on Thursday, November 16, that left a condensed air trail resembling an obscene image to observers on the ground.
Of course Navy penis is trending. Also: This is NOT a headline from @TheOnion. https://t.co/WQRsHYKCFD

Navy “Air Boss” Vice Adm. Mike Shoemaker issued a statement lamenting the crew’s behaviour and asserted the service’s commitment to ‘foster an environment of dignity and respect.’
He said:
Sophomoric and immature antics of a sexual nature have no place in Naval aviation today.
This event clearly stands in stark contrast to the way our aviators and Sailors are performing with utmost professionalism, discipline and excellence from our carrier flight decks and expeditionary airfields around the world today.
.@ZcohenCNN wins today: "In case there was any doubt, the US Navy has confirmed that there is "zero training value" in drawing penises in the sky" https://t.co/utxgRqXaQI

One mother in the Okanogan County, Washington, area told KREM 2 revealed she was sad her children might not know what the drawing was and that she’d have to explain.
Mainly, though, authorities aside, most people found it amusing.
Gotta love that the #USNAVY pilots have a sense of humor, guessing they will be in BIG trouble, but I personally LOVE it! #NavyPenis #LookUpInTheSkyItsABirdItsAPlaneItsAPenis pic.twitter.com/wNfUleudPP

Hubbell added:
The actions of this aircrew were wholly unacceptable and antithetical to Navy core values. We have grounded the aircrew and are conducting a thorough investigation – and we will hold those responsible accountable for their actions. The Navy apologizes for this irresponsible and immature act.
This is still banter and I approve.
If anything, you have to say, this is a positive indictment of the training level within the US Navy. Sure, it’s good to control and maintain all internal and external aircraft systems, provide vital attack, defense and logistic support to the Fleet, but suerly being able to draw the classic school-boy c**k in the sky is up there too?
