Zoo That Killed Harambe Deletes Twitter Account Due To Memes

In the past few weeks, for some bizarre reason there has been an upsurge in Harambe memes and comments on almost every single post on social media. 

‘Dicks out for Harambe’ has haunted my every Facebook post since August began and I’m sure you’ve all noticed it too.

Why is it happening? I don’t know. But it’s not just me and you who it’s getting to, according to The Independent.

Cincinnati Zoo, also known as the zoo that killed Harambe back on that fateful day in May, pleaded with the world to stop making the memes and jokes, but now they’ve taken it one step further and deleted all of their social media accounts as a direct result of it.

Weirdly amusingly, it’s thought that by pleading with the world to stop making jokes, they only drove people on to make even more original and creative Harambe content.

Recently, the director of the zoo said:

[This institution is] not amused by the memes, petitions and signs about Harambe.

Our zoo family is still healing, and the constant mention of Harambe makes moving forward more difficult for us. We are honouring Harambe by redoubling our gorilla conservation efforts and encouraging others to join us.

It is thought that by deleting their accounts they may have actually brought an end to the meme outburst – but personally I don’t buy it.

Harambe and his memes aren’t going anywhere.
