GettyPeople are questioning why Theresa May refused to meet residents of Grenfell Tower after a tragic fire cost residents their homes and many their lives.
The Prime Minister did however have time to visit the scene in West London today, where 17 lives have so far been claimed.
Less than a week after the general election, which many considered an embarrassment for May, the PM made a ‘private’ visit and decided to meet emergency services only.
GettyIt’s been reported by the Metro, that she did not speak with residents or answer questions from journalists.
With the London Fire Brigade saying the death toll is likely to rise, people are questioning why she couldn’t find the time to meet with, and console, residents who have lost their homes and loves ones.
Various journalists have also asked similar questions of the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn visited St Clements Church, where volunteers have set up a refuge centre following the tragedy.
Corbyn was seen chatting with, and reassuring the community, following the tragedy.
Community representative Ishmael Blagrove told Corbyn:
This country needs you – somebody has to be held accountable and responsible.
We don’t want the Government to kick this into the long grass.

Emma (Dent Coad) is your MP, she will speak for your community.
We have to get to the bottom of this – the truth has got to come out and it will.
Following her private visit to the scene, Theresa May has confirmed there will be a full public inquiry into the Grenfell Tower disaster.

The Prime Minister is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life in the Grenfell Tower and is being kept constantly updated on the situation.
The Prime Minister’s thoughts are with all of those affected by this terrible incident and the emergency services, who are working tirelessly in very difficult circumstances.
